Canada Issues Travel Warning for Puerto Vallarta as “Code Red” Remains in Jalisco
Global Affairs Canada is now advising people traveling in Puerto Vallarta and Guadalpa to go to the airport only if they have a flight and feel safe. Although Canada’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Anita Anand, states that the situation is becoming “more stable,” the area is still unstable due to the recent violence by cartels. Large airlines such as Air Canada and WestJet are reinstating flights today, but a “Code Red” alert is still active in the state of Jalisco. People are advised to remain in their hotels or homes (shelter-in-place) unless they are traveling for a flight.
